Using AI to Stay Productive When Life Gets Real

There's a book I've been wanting to break down for months — Gary Keller's "The One Thing." A book about focus and productivity. The irony? I can barely find 20 uninterrupted minutes to write about it.

That tension — wanting to create while being genuinely time-constrained — is what pushed me to build a real AI-augmented content workflow. Not "AI replaces me" but "AI handles the scaffolding so I can focus on what only I can add."

The Workflow

Here's the actual pipeline I use now:

1. AI generates the structure. I feed the topic into Google AI Studio and get back an outline, section headers, and a rough script skeleton. This used to take me 2 hours of staring at a blank page.
2. I inject the real stuff. Personal experience, specific examples, opinions that an AI wouldn't have. This is the part that makes content worth reading.
3. Google Vids converts the script into a rough video draft. Not final — but enough to see if the structure works.
4. AI voiceover as placeholder until I can record the real thing.
5. Final editing and publish.

I think of it as lowering activation energy. When you're exhausted and have a 20-minute window, "review and refine an AI-drafted outline" is achievable. "Create something from nothing" is not.

Two Content Tracks

I run two distinct channels with different goals:

• This site — book reviews, career reflections, productivity systems, and lessons learned. The long-game personal brand.
• Blendlogic Tech — AI tooling, MacBook performance testing, and technology reviews. The hands-on technical side.

The AI workflow makes both possible. Without it, I'd ship maybe one post a quarter. With it, I can maintain a real cadence.

The Key Insight

AI is the scaffolding, not the building. Your experience, your voice, your specific perspective — that's the part that can't be automated.

Remote work flexibility makes this feasible at all. No commute means stolen minutes can go toward something that compounds. The combination of remote work + AI-assisted workflows is genuinely a different game than what was possible even two years ago.
